Traumatic Transformation

The following article and video is taken from the website TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. TED started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader as this video shows. Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one.

Jill's description of her experience when under the influence of her right brain only was as awesome as any I have heard of pure appreciation (Enlightenment A-a). She experiences the timelessness of the present disconnected from the every day chatter of the left brain. She feels connected to all humanity and is able to sense all the energy that exists.Her spirit soared free in a state she could only describe as Nirvana. She "pictured a world filled with peaceful compassionate loving people who could comto thiss space a any time. They could purposefully choose to step to the right of their left hemispheres. and find this space". She reflected on what a gift of insight this would be if every one knew this and could access that world when needed.

In wondering how the enormity of the connected world within her she could possibly fit back into her tiny body she was experiencing the problem of trying to reduce five or more dimensional experiences into the three dimensions of our daily experience.

Her experience gives yet another boost to the insight that the AIC distinctions of energy and power are reflective of the structure of our brains. She also confirms that an expereince of pure appreciation is one of the the most powerful source for personal and global transformation.
